At a mere nine years of age, John Kasinger discovered magic and recognized that “film was my king.” Since 1967, John has been a professional photographer, with luxury photography, fine art photographs, and original art on his creative resume.

To say John’s work makes people sit up and take notice would be an understatement. His studies in black and white were purchased and published as advertising by Kodak, Canon and Mamiya Corporation in the ‘70s. Much of his work was published in Kodak’s “Professional Portrait Techniques Book.” In 1982, he earned the distinguished “Fellow of Photography,” an award given by The Professional Photographers of Washington.

In 2006, he was published in Black and White Magazine. In 2019 he was published in Lenswork magzine considered the main voice in black and white fine art photography.

John’s inspiration was the great Adolf Fassbender. He helped shaped John’s creative “eye” as a student early in John’s career. Of course, the great outdoors has always played a big role in John’s work — he’s in awe of Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. And when he’s not out photographing a beautiful landscape he can be found in his camera room at home working on a still life.

John has been married to fine artist Diane Mastel since 1982. Together, they collaborate on projects at their home in Texas.
